I suppose I can't say my eye is uber-critical; I've got a shelf dedicated to various primal/paleo/ancestral nutrition books. I have not read about eating like a Viking, but I imagine it contains fish?
Regardless, that seems to be where I am for the most part. In my everyday lift, I eat paleo-ish; it's about finding what is sustainable for you. My journey has been very, very slow, going from eating whatever was cheap and feeling awful (my doctor was tired of seeing me because I was so rundown and tired all the time) to a diet high in veggies and meat. It took years, and looking back, I can see the step-downs. This year is where I started eating meat again, that year is where I stopped eating pasta/breads. And so on and so forth.
My goal with this Whole30 is to slay the sugar dragon once and for all, since I have an enormous sweet tooth and I believe it's one of my major stumbling blocks to being more healthy. It's also why I avoid reading "this dessert made with paleo ingredients!" recipes - I don't need the temptation. I believe the term is Sex With Your Pants On.
