NYT on barefoot shoe research

The New York Times reports on some interesting research on people transitioning to "barefoot" shoes:

Tara Parker-Pope: Are Barefoot Shoes Really Better?

Take-home message seems to be that they do reduce the risk of injury in runners -- if you adjust your running form. If you don't, though, then you can injure yourself in new and exciting ways.

Yeah, that was the sense I'd gotten from the reading I'd done.

… I found myself running on my toes a bit yesterday, but it's hard to sustain. 30+ years of training otherwise are hard to break…

I like this site's series of articles. I found it helpful when I was deciding about barefoot shoes. I wear vivos most of the time now.
